Nephrology

Aretaeio Hospital offers the full range of Nephrology services, from diagnosis to treatment. Patients with hypertension, diabetic nephropathy, cardio-renal failure, hepato-renal syndrome, nephrolithiasis, glomerulonephritis (with kidney biopsy where indicated), morphological abnormalities of the urinary system and other conditions are evaluated and investigated. Appropriate medication is offered as well as specialized therapies such as plasmapheresis. For patients with acute kidney failure, hemocatharsis is offered through various methods (hemodialysis, continuous hemofiltration, peritoneal dialysis) both in the Intensive Care Unit and in the Pathological Ward.
