It is intended either to diagnose or treat heart disease. Interventional cardiology is a subspecialty of cardiology.<\/p><p><strong>More specifically, interventional cardiology includes:<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Invasive procedures for myocardial ischemia recognition:<ul><li>Coronary angiography<\/li><li>Percutaneous coronary intervention (coronary angioplasty)<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li class=\"text_exposed_show\">Electrophysiology studies mainly to investigate cardiac arrhythmias<\/li><li class=\"text_exposed_show\">Valvuloplasty, mainly on the aortic and mitral valves<\/li><li class=\"text_exposed_show\">Its most frequent use is to investigate and treat ischemic disease, which is the most common incident in the world.<\/li><\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/section><section class=\"bde-section-271-119 bde-section\">\n  \n  \n\t\n\n\n\n<div class=\"section-container\"><div class=\"bde-columns-271-120 bde-columns\"><div class=\"bde-column-271-121 bde-column\" data-entrance=\"slideUp\">\n  \n  \n\t\n\n\n\n<div class=\"bde-div-271-122 bde-div\">\n  \n  \n\t\n\n\n\n<div class=\"bde-div-271-123 bde-div\">\n  \n  \n\t\n\n\n\n\n<\/div><div class=\"bde-div-271-124 bde-div\">\n  \n  \n\t\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"bde-heading-271-125 bde-heading\">\nCardiac Surgery\n<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><div class=\"bde-div-271-126 bde-div\">\n  \n  \n\t\n\n\n\n<div class=\"bde-rich-text-271-127 bde-rich-text breakdance-rich-text-styles\">\n<p>Aretaeio Cardiac Surgery Centre is housed in the premises of Aretaeio Hospital and is the most modern heart care centre in Cyprus.<\/p><p>The Centre is staffed with a team of specialist doctors \u2013 cardiologists, interventional cardiologists, and cardiac surgeons who, in collaboration with the experienced paramedical and nursing staff, offer high quality services that cover the whole range of modern heart care. At the same time, the Centre has medical equipment of the latest technology and excellent organization, making it meet modern needs and European standards.<\/p><p>The Aretaeio Cardiac Surgery Centre is a fundamental department of Aretaeio Hospital and is supported by the other departments of the hospital, which provide services of all medical and paramedical specialties.<\/p><p>The Centre closely cooperates with the Intensive Care Unit of Aretaeio Hospital, which is well-staffed by intensive care specialists.<\/p><p>The Aretaeio Medical Centre operates 24 hours a day with the ability of quick diagnosis and integrated approach to all types of cardiovascular disease.
